A New Year, A New Life

I began trying to set up this website two weeks ago; after much research, I think I am getting it done.  I had no idea it would be this complicated, I mean my kids, my grandkids, the kids I work with as a Social worker and private therapist, the kids I teach at University speak airily of their blogs and their websites and it all seemed like a great idea.  Then I started to do it myself.  Whoa, Nelly!  I see why they offer college degrees in this stuff now.

And just why do I need a website, just when all this talk of controlling the web and such is going on?  That is a sort of three part answer, but to put it shortly, I’m an author.  I have always been a storyteller and I love reading, and I write all the time.  I worked for 17 years in a government agency and in the entire time I took note on all going around me, and I bottled up all the stories and ideas and concepts and told myself someday, I was going to organize it all and write some wonderful stories.  I was constantly fascinated by the twisted ways people within and without the government thought, and as a mom, and a homeschooler, as a Christian and a Native American, I have my own ideas on where this world is going-and I ended up writing three dystopian novels about where we might be headed within a short time.  I followed that with a prequel and am following that with yet two more books.  Along the way, I met other authors, at book signings and elsewhere and started up a writer’s group.

Now lest you think I’ve diverged from the topic of why I needed a website, all my author buddies have websites-all very imaginative and gorgeous.  So combined with my students, my clients, my kids and my friends, I feel impelled to put together this website.

And just so they don’t get away with causing me all this grief, I am going to include one of them each month with what they are writing, have written and are going to write, so you can get to know some of the best writers I know…and a long the way, let’s make friends ourselves.  The world needs more friends…

I found your Oberllyn Trilogy quite interesting and am looking forward to the Prequel. Much like world history, we can observe your the victors, the Clan Oberllyn, telling their family story to the understanding of the whispers of the Ancestors story written on the pages of your mind.
