A New Year, A New Life

I began trying to set up this website two weeks ago; after much research, I think I am getting it done.  I had no idea it would be this complicated, I mean my kids, my grandkids, the kids I work with as a Social worker and private therapist, the kids I teach at University speak airily of their blogs and their websites and it all seemed like a great idea.  Then I started to do it myself.  Whoa, Nelly!  I see why they offer college degrees in this stuff now.

And just why do I need a website, just when all this talk of controlling the web and such is going on?  That is a sort of three part answer, but to put it shortly, I’m an author.  I have always been a storyteller and I love reading, and I write all the time.  I worked for 17 years in a government agency and in the entire time I took note on all going around me, and I bottled up all the stories and ideas and concepts and told myself someday, I was going to organize it all and write some wonderful stories.  I was constantly fascinated by the twisted ways people within and without the government thought, and as a mom, and a homeschooler, as a Christian and a Native American, I have my own ideas on where this world is going-and I ended up writing three dystopian novels about where we might be headed within a short time.  I followed that with a prequel and am following that with yet two more books.  Along the way, I met other authors, at book signings and elsewhere and started up a writer’s group.

Now lest you think I’ve diverged from the topic of why I needed a website, all my author buddies have websites-all very imaginative and gorgeous.  So combined with my students, my clients, my kids and my friends, I feel impelled to put together this website.

And just so they don’t get away with causing me all this grief, I am going to include one of them each month with what they are writing, have written and are going to write, so you can get to know some of the best writers I know…and a long the way, let’s make friends ourselves.  The world needs more friends…

I am using wordpress on a platform called siteground. However, in the past i used weebly and found it to be easier to use but expensive as the site i was using it on kept adding more charges for different things. i swtiched over to this and have found it to be much easier to operate, so to speak. i am not that tech savy however, so it is not as nice as i would like.

Greetings from Florida! I’m bored to tears at work so I decided to browse your site on my iphone during lunch break. I enjoy the info you present here and can’t wait to take a look when I get home. I’m shocked at how quick your blog loaded on my phone .. I’m not even using WIFI, just 3G .. Anyways, awesome blog!

Greetings! I’ve friends in FL and they even had a bit of ice this winter as well-shocked them a bit. They were used to bad storms even hurricane detritus, but snow and frost-whoa, honey. A couple even went up north to escape to GA-which is funny if you think about it. Glad you stopped by and hope to hear from you soon. Glad the site loads well. Worked hard to make it easy at this end.

That sounds like fun! I have published regular books, some are available as Kindle and such, but not specifically on alpaca and farm and these things. Let’s talk about it…I’d love to see/read your blog-would be interesting to see what others are doing.

My blog is in the very same area of interest as yours and my visitors would genuinely benefit from a lot of the information you provide here. Please let me know if this alright with you. Thank you!
