It’s been a hot few weeks-between a new book being launched, a lot of study going on, working on building a forge for Tris and getting ready for our open house-there is no stronger word for busy, is there?

But busy is good; I love getting things done, and it’s grand to get to the end of the day, look back and say we did that.  This week we got the little dogs moved here from the old house, and into their new yard.  They much like the increased in space and their houses.

We’ve been residing our old house and redoing it so it can be used by our son and his wife and three boys-been watching the younger one for Ben and he likes working with us outside.  He is getting to be a good little alpaca wrangler; as we move them from field to field, he carries a walking stick and is learning to not try and herd them, to lead them.

That’s an important lesson for all of us: people do much better when led and not forced to go somewhere.  Given a choice, most folks I know do the right thing; given the choice they prefer someone showing them and letting them learn to do for themselves.  I haven’t often been harmed when I treat people with respect and kindness.  Once or twice I have met folks I could not give the benefit of the doubt to, and it’s always left me sad to think what must have happened to them growing up to make them act ion less than stellar ways.

I guess it all comes don yto being kind; to living each day as if it was the last and remembering that the sun shines on us all equally; if God is that gracious, surely we can be as well.
