A busy week here at the farm; both in books and beasties. We had some rain, but the leaves don’t seem to be turning yet. The garden is all harvested, and the irrigation equipment is put away. I’ve also started setting up Christmas book specials. I still have a couple of puppies to rehome; I attended a fabulous party at a friend’s house on Thursday night. We made a trip to Half Price Books, which we love, and with the CPW (Cutest Preschooler in My World) ’s help, discovered they have an incredible number of books in the K and under section about poop. I have no idea why, but she was fascinated. I settled on none of those, but yes to decoder/primer readers for her. As one who helps clean stalls, henhouses, and such, I am not enamored of manure in any form.

Fawn and Scott are repairing the busted steps on their house. It will be good as new once the mortar hardens. They are considering putting out “tasteful boulders” along that side of the yard. I suggested they be painted in glow-in-the-dark colors. Once again, my artistic abilities are being squealed. I might find a way to get some large rocks here for painting. I thought a lovely swirl of the different kinds of glow-in-the-dark colors, sort of an anti-camo effect, might be nice and keep people from running over my line of daffodils by the driveway every spring. If I got say twelve-inch rocks and set them along the drive, that might work. Of course, dependent on how much snow we get, that could also bash someone’s fender pretty good.

I have a little more housework to complete before I can consider the house neat enough for company; so I’ll get to it, but I wanted to let you know about the specials going on this week to come:
From Oct 6-13, Monday through Monday, book two in our Social Work Memoirs series, You Still Can’t Make This Up! is a 99-cent download on Amazon.
Book two continues with short, almost true-to-life stories, some drop-dead funny, some tragic in the life of a social worker. Social work is wilder than fiction, funnier, and nothing can make you angrier than the injustices of life. If you liked book one, you will love book two: true to life stories, odd characters, and survival in a not-to-be-believed world of bureaucracy, poverty, and families in crisis. You need this book – real lives, genuine laughs, and real heartbreak!
You can still get it at the reduced price until Monday, the 13th. Just go to

And it’s starting to look like Christmas, so I am going to start the Christmas specials. (We had frost this morning, and I am definitely in the mood for some shopping!) Christmas comes to the Tritowns will be a free download from the 14th-18th, just five days, so download quickly and start your Christmas spirit!
Something odd is going on in the Tritowns. As the lodge, the Ladies’ Auxiliary, and the sheriff all try to prepare for a normal Christmas, Christmas trees start showing up, all seemingly indexed to the places they are left. The Bark has new members, old friends show up for the holidays, and can’t we have peace and quiet long enough to open packages? Get your copy while it’s free!

And that winds it up for now! Have a grand fall; I hope the trees turn soon. Why not enjoy a walk, followed by a cup of cider, a cookie, and a good book?
