How do you run into a House?
Great day in the morning!
We have been running like chickens this week; three alpaca went to new pastures; two puppies are rehomed, Dan and I nearly have the first edit of his new book done; I published book five of the Hidden America series, which will be available soon. Next Wednesday is the publication of Memoir #3 of the Social Worker Series, so if you want to preorder you would need to hurry; or you can wait until Wednesday when it comes out officially. Last week, someone ran into Fawn’s house; yes, I wondered how you miss a house and bash into its front porch if you aren’t on a bender; no one was home at the time. The police were called by neighbors; when F&S got home the police had come and left. We got a copy of the report from them and it is an odd tale. It appears a 17-year-old driver was coming down the hill beside the house, she was texting, or so the police report says. There was a man ahead of her nearly to the corner stop sign. She rear-ended him hard enough that his car was launched across the yard and into Fawn’s porch, bashing up the concrete blocks, bending over a 8 foot tall pine tree, really doing a number on the innocent guy’s car. I suspect the young lady with the phone has had one of those come to Jesus lectures from her parents. Dan and Scott think they can do the repair on the porch but want a contractor to check it and make sure the steps/porch are still aligned correctly. Fawn and Scott just signed on this house back in July and someone has already tried to mess it up. They are miffed.
In other strange goings on, we’ve had 5 straight days of on and off rain-almost 3 inches total and it soaked in beautifully; the grass is greening back up, the flowers are blooming again. However, the weather man says we’d need another 6 or 7 inches to cancel out the drought. We have been really dry.
