Is there a drought at your house, too?

Sunny, Warm, Sunny, Hot, Sunny, Dried, Sunny Not!

We are once again in a drought; this is two years in a row and the local agricultural expert says most farmers can handle three drought years and then they have to sell out.  I am worried for our local small farmers. Not only are the markets bad right now, the crop is small and the prices are low; I don’t know how some of them are going to make it this year.

On a brighter side, the Fed lowered interest rate on money it lends to our banks by a quarter percent. That won’t trickle down to interest rates on credit cards or loans for the rest of us, of course, but it sounds good.

And I’ve been trying to write my Christmas novel of the year and work on Christmas organization for the family. I buy stuff all year and store it in plastic totes and sometime in October, sort it and go out to get the gifts I need to fill in gaps and shall be doing that next week, which is something to look forward to when I look out the window and see heat waves rising off the parked cars in the driveway and know its at least 85’ out.  You have the bring the temp down somehow. Yes, it’s early but also heard from weatherman that we’re having a lot of snow this year and I dislike driving in it.

However, we are mostly well; baby Penny has her first baby cold, which is sad and makes her crabby.  Her sister tries to help by giving her stuffed animals but mostly, mom just rocks her and rests her.

One of our alpacas has found another home, which is good.  The puppies are ready to leave as well.  Fawn and Scott are planning a grand 25^th anniversary trip to celebrate.  They’ve decided to spend a week in a castle.  I hadn’t realized how many of those we had here in Ohio. I might have to do that myself sometime. But moving on, the special I set up for this week is:
