Don’t you think all little girls and their great-grandpas ought to have a new puppy now and then?
This is Ember, our new Irish retriever puppy. Her mom was a purebred Irish setter, and her dad was a purebred Old English Cream retriever. She’s got qualities of both, loves kids, and is a little unsure of herself. In spite of that, she ius a gentle, sweet puppy and already has imprinted on the girls. Officially, she is Dan’s dog.
In other breaking news, we’re celebrating both sons’ birthdays this Saturday at 2; cake and ice cream are on hand. The local coyotes are in mating mode; they howl at night and, during the day, are seen in the lower fields along the trees, chasing each other. It’s crazy. All our stock is up here near or in the barn. I am taking no chances on midnight cria feasting.
Have you noticed the increase in grocery prices? A box of Cheerios was over seven dollars at the market today; strawberries were 4.99 a pound, and milk had jumped a quarter more a gallon. Setting up a bowl of Cheerios with fruit and milk right now would cost about $5.25 a cereal bowl. Cold cereal used to be a less expensive way to feed the minions. Not anymore.
Also, wanted to let you know the website will be down for refurbishment, updating pictures, eliminating pages, sorting, and making it easier to read. Watch for developments. I hope to unveil the new, improved website for next week’s message. If you have any suggestions or ideas, shoot me a message-I appreciate your feedback.
