And perhaps the better question is why?
The weather has been in the 60s for the past few days, with heavy rain last night. Now it’s dropping into the 30s, with strong winds and possible storms. And let’s not forget—it’s February, not March. I am not looking forward to March.
This week has been unforgettable. Two old friends passed away suddenly, my oven broke, everyone caught a 48-hour bug, our mucky mud season began, and taxes were due. Crocuses are poking up in the front yard, and Dutch irises are growing on the side. I almost feel like I’m losing my mind—I wouldn’t be surprised to see Bigfoot in the yard.
I just checked, and the snowdrops are blooming in the back field, even though it’s supposed to snow tomorrow. The chaos at home seems to match what’s happening in the country, which is even more discouraging.

I feel tired and upset by the cultural issues we’re facing. Why isn’t the Kennedy Center open? Why would we destroy such a national treasure? What happened to our love for good music, art, and creative talent? Why can’t we protect and celebrate those with artistic gifts, no matter the politics? Why are we letting money erase our traditions?
Don’t get me wrong—I know money is important, and we all need it. But why do we let it twist our values and change how we see the world? The British arrested Prince Andrew, not for helping someone who exploited women and children, but for selling state secrets. Wasn’t harming the vulnerable enough reason to act? Instead, it was the threat to the monarchy that mattered. And he’s the King’s brother, isn’t he? Have we become so blinded by greed and wrongdoing that we can’t see our mistakes?

Please, let’s bring back art, beauty, and kindness. My heart aches over all the dishonesty around us. I’ll stop venting now, but I’d love to hear your thoughts on how we can make things better. Should we start a letter-writing campaign to those in charge? If enough of us speak up, maybe it would make them think twice before things get worse.
In the meantime, the last special of the month is coming up—the final romance for this month of love and memories of past presidents and old glories. I hope you enjoy it and leave a review.
From February 23 to 27, our final special is Forged in Water and Fire, another romance-filled novel just for you, written by Tbear and me.
If you enjoy stories with dragons, manors, magic, science, dystopian futures, and sweet romance, you’ll love Tbear/Traveler’s final book in the Clan Falconer series. An ancient evil from the Great War threatens the five United Kingdoms, and Lucan, his clan, and his family must stop it. Francis and Eliza are doing their best to get married, David and Nightsong are expecting a baby, and the dragons are forming unexpected alliances. New bonds are formed, old rivalries simmer, and both dragons and clansmen must work together to survive in a world shaped by water, fire, and love.
Forged in Water and Fire—be sure to get your copy. You might want to have a box of tissues nearby, and some chocolate wouldn’t hurt either.
And that’s it. I think I will take a walk and try to clear my head. Maybe it will all come clearer with some fresh air.
