And dripping more every minute
The warm weather has started the sap flowing, and Dan has set up his reverse osmosis machine. We hope to make three or four gallons of syrup this year, which is plenty for us. Fresh sap tastes amazing—cold, slightly sweet, and full of minerals. My dad always said it was the best spring drink, and I agree. It takes about 38 to 40 gallons of sap to make just one gallon of syrup. Dan put out around 14 taps this year. We’re not big sugarhouse producers; we’re just a homestead family. Making syrup is one of the many ways our little farm provides for us as we care for it.
I also have a new book coming out! It will be on special starting Monday. This trilogy is just in time for Lent. I’ll share more details soon. I’m really excited about it—the cover is beautiful, and I’m looking for people to read and review it.
I’m still searching for a good home for our smallest pom puppy. Some people who reached out weren’t the right fit. She deserves a loving home, and I haven’t found it yet.
Dan and Tris went out looking for a car. After visiting several lots and having many discussions, they’ve narrowed it down to three options. Tris likes the Prius, while Dan prefers either the Toyota or Hyundai. I just want something practical that will get him to work on time. I’ll keep you updated, and I’d love to hear any suggestions you might have.
