Are You Being Blown Away?

And it’s supposed to last another 2 hours…that big plant is a cnetury plant; blooms once every 20 years or so and is huge.

The rain is raining on me outside…

My goodness!  I am so late today; we had a windstorm with gusts up to 60 mph, and my yard greenhouse blew down, a large pine tree broke over and broke down the dog fence, barely missing the barn. The dogs all escaped and had to be rescued from their pom panic, which is only done with cuddles, treats, and finding a safer place to stay.  The chickens were blown against the fence and had to be chased into the hen house for safety; branches are down everywhere. I can’t assess all the damage yet, but with the electricity doing fits and starts, all my blog, email, and newsletter got way behind, so I’m racing to fix that.

This week we went to the Franklin Park Conservatory for a field trip with the great grands; the conservatory had let out morpho butterflies and several other varieties; the kids had a wonderful time looking at indoor waterfalls and cave/tunnels with glass roofs, having butterflies land on them, and eating French fries for lunch. There was a lab where you could watch the chrysalis hatching. They had three-foot-long koi drifting through the ponds. She wanted to take one home.  We had to take her out, crying and begging to stay. Violet has decided that field trips are a wonderful way to go to school; she did not want to leave.  It helped that all day long we had torrential rain, so she would have had to stay in all day, and this way she was sort of out in the greenhouses-they are all attached and you just walk through from one to another. When we left, it was raining. She got wet and moaned all the way out of the gates and onto the interstate; then she fell asleep all the rest of the way home, as did her baby sister.

The koi were huge.

Dan and I have head colds, which make us cranky, and we really need a nap.  I think I will attempt one in about an hour. I wanted to let you know what the special is for tomorrow and do a cover reveal for the next new book coming out shortly.

March 16-20 is a free book! Poverty’s Perpetual Persistence.

Poverty warps a mindset for life: walk with me through memories, sometimes harsh, sometimes funny, lilting along in poetry. Pour yourself a cup of tea, sit down, and join me as I describe what the world was, is, and ought to be. Sit. Sip. Remember what matters.  Step inside a quiet space your heart didn’t know it needed. A gentle escape for minds tired of noise. Where poetry meets reflection, and the world finally slows down. I hope you’ll find this a friendly, safe place to relax and escape the problems of your world. Experience my world through the eyes of poetry, as I reminisce on life’s unforgettable moments, and on the choices I have made and still make with what I do in my remaining years. The imagination tree is wide; come and sit awhile. You’re so welcome to be here. Would you like some spring tea and shortbread?

And this is the new cover: this will be out shortly:

I will get right to sending this missal out; sorry it was late. Thank you for being readers despite my shortcomings; I do appreciate you all! I hope all is well with you. Did you have bad weather where you live? I do hope not! Have a great weekend.
