A Preschooler, A Baby and Vitamin Sea

And announcing the Contest!

Me, too, Me too, I want to go!

It’s lovely outside right now, and, except for the CPW (cutest preschooler in my world) getting into things she shouldn’t, it’s been a good day. We’re madly packing the car: setting up the animals for the grandson to come over and care for, and double-checking our packing lists.

You would not think we’d have much more to pack besides our clothes, but when you are also packing a 4 year old and 7 month old, things seem to grow exponentially: suddenly, the foldable wagon must be in there somewhere, the diapers, several extra outfits, beach buckets and sand castle making supplies, formula, bottle, snacks, toys for the trip down, two computers-I take my full desktop when I travel because I write every day and I have some editing I’ve been putting off. I also have my sewing machine and bags of fabric, rulers, and tools, and Dan has just in case tools, plus there are two child seats, and we are taking food: rather a lot of it since there will be 8 of us, eating 3 meals a day plus snacks, and so we are bringing food and water from home.

Grandma, did you pack the cookies? I can’t find them.

No, we are not heading for space or traveling by oxcart to California. However, it ought to be a little less when we come back, because we will eat all the food and use all the diapers. Of course, we will be buying souvenirs: I always get a pin for my trip banner, a plant, and some fabric. And the group is like a troop of locusts when they go shopping, but we are driving three cars.

I shall attempt to keep up with my daily missive on FB and notes to all, and shall attempt to make the travelogue not too boring.

And the crew not going are here at the farm, making sure everything stays tied down ahead of the next round of storms hitting here Thursday night. And then next week, another round and possibly snow.

I hope Mother Nature takes something for her spring PMS before we return from the beach.

One day 73’, next day this

And now, for this week’s special: I could not decide which contest to run first. I want to run a contest to gather new newsletter subscribers and give away autographed copies of books in padded envelopes with bling. I also wanted to increase the number of people on my Traveler Pelton FB page. I need to do both. I decided I would run one contest, where people can subscribe to the newsletter/FB page more simply. For every 25 people who subscribe, I will award one mystery package that includes an autographed paperback or hardback book, bling, and a free download of another book. 1-in-25 odds are reasonable, and I have started making up 20 packages, but I can always add more. And there will be a grand prize winner as well. All you need to do is sign up to receive our newsletter: there’s a link below. Then go over to my Facebook page, like, share, and join to be entered. (You get two entries if you do both. One, if you join one.) If you are already a newsletter or FB member, ask a couple of friends to join either one. Let me know they have, and you’ll get an entry as well. No reason why my old friends can’t be in the contest. Thank you so much. My FB page address is

https://www.facebook.com/travelerpelton

And the newsletter link to join is: you may have to copy and paste:

“https://www.authoremail.com/email/lists/wn0901vght85d/subscribe?output=embed&width=400&height=400″ width=”400″ height=”400″ frameborder=”0″ scrolling=”no”

Thank you so much. I’m heading out on vacation. Only 800 miles between me and the ocean. I will check this sporadically during the trip to see how it’s going; my goal is at least 500 new members. Like it, share it, let’s build this up! Did I mention everyone who joins gets a free book download? How can you lose? Drawing will be held April 13. I hope you win! And I will give hints about the grand prize along the way…
