I got the Cutest Preschooler in my World (the CPW) a book. That’s not unusual, but this one was a special order, with her name throughout the story. It arrived; I settled in for a nice reading time with her inserted as the character. It told the adventures of Violet, the little squirrel, as she made discoveries through the forest and finally settled back into her nest with her mommy. It was charming. The actual Violet was looking more and more quizzical the longer I read. When it was done, she turned to me, put her hands on both sides of my face, and said, “Grandma, do I really look like a squirrel to you?”
OK, so I am raising a literalist. That is not necessarily bad. Wednesday, her grandpa and I took the two of them to Franklin Park Conservatory to see the butterflies and the Children’s Garden. They actually had butterflies land on them, which they found enthralling. In four hours, they were completely wiped out, cried when we had to leave, and slept the entire 90 minutes home.

The farm is doing fine. I put the last chapter in book four of the Social Work Memoirs, and now I need to edit once, re-write, edit again, send it to the actual editor, and order the cover… anyway, look for it about the end of July. You are going to love it.
The work on the library mystery series is coming along fine, too; book one has one more chapter, and book two is mapped out. That will start sometime in August.
And thank you to those who are worried about the health issues. They are still there, but with all the testing and specialists looking at it, surely someone will come up with something sensible to stop the chronic pain.
And speaking of special, I’d best give you the next week’s specials while I still have a brain to remember them!
