$5 off Sale, Summer Toils and No Horse, Please!

But I really wanted one..

I woke up this morning to a thunderstorm burbling overhead.  Not a huge storm, gentle, loud, big lightning flashes, pails and tubs of water falling in determined waves. Our gardens loved it. And it was pleasant to lie there, dry and comfortable until it finished.  Then I had to face life, get up and start weekend preparations.

Dan and I took the great-grands to the state fair this week. It was exhausting but a lot of fun to see all the animals and exhibits. Violet was set on bringing home a horse, but she ended up with a stuffed animal and some 3D-printed clicking toys instead.

I still have my dog.

Peni had her 1st birthday, and we had her and Tbear’s birthday together.  Tbear got the ammo and the hard drive he wanted and his favorite chocolate cake. We also took Peni to Build-A-Bear, a complete disappointment.  Let’s say they don’t honor their advertisements and leave it at that.  I don’t believe I’ll bother returning.  She did get a bear, as I promised her.

Let me get this straight, I am allowed to get into these now and all week Ama has been saying no?

I started canning this week—dill pickles, tomatoes, and peaches. I still need more tomatoes, and then it will be time for applesauce season.

Tomatoes are already placed in cupboard…

Thank you all for making my newest social work memoir a bestseller in two categories. That was so exciting! To celebrate, I’m offering $5-off specials on the following omnibus editions. They’re usually $6.99 per download, but each week a different one will be on sale for $1.99. This gives you plenty of time to read each book before the next sale. Each omnibus is a complete set of three books, most over 600 pages. Enjoy finishing up your summer reading with these! Here are the sales for the rest of the month:

August 9-16 $5 off sale! The Fiber Mavens Omnibus contains Quilting Can Be Criminal, Criminally Quilted, and Criminally Pieced Together; romance, intrigue, and mystery times three. Quilts, crimes, and clues—Lyonsville’s cozy charm has a deadly twist. Get your copy before the sale and summer reading is gone.

August 16 through 23: The Fern Valley Fur Family Mysteries are $5 off per download. Three full books in one! Ascot, BW and Tucker have to follow the scents and convince their owners, who can’t smell a thing, where to look for the crime scene. From the Snowy Owl Lodge, the Ladies’ Auxiliary, animal shelters, and even a murder. Welcome to Fern Valley, where the cats and dogs get along better than the people.

$5 off sale continues  August 23 until the 30th: The Oberllyn Family Omnibus: Books 1, 2, and 3: The Past Generations

If you love family sagas,  you will love this compilation of the Oberllyn Family Series (1844-1951). Starting with the Western expansion and the Civil War, traveling west by wagon train begins a generational battle between the Oberllyn’s and an enemy network that plagues them for  12 generations. You will be entranced. Get your copy on sale!

That about winds up the news for this week: I also saw another specialist, I taught at the library again, Scott’s alternator blew up and needed replaced, flowers are blooming and almost done with the self-help devotional on dealing with self-esteem tanking, Tor is moving along and I started the new Beyond the Veil book for Christmas-so busy, happy and blessed-and hope you are too! Peace to all.
