Happy Valentine’s Day to You!

And the sun is shining!

Happy Valentine’s Day!  Or if you are reading this after Friday, we love you anyway!

I was hoping you could sit down and have some tea with me as I contemplate what else needs completed today. The sun is shining. Of course, it’s only 28’ but at least it’s not overcast.  We’re supposed to get rain and then snow tonight but for now, it looks good.

That smell comes from a pot of black beans to be served over rice with a bit of lime for Sabbath dinner, and the entire house smells of garlic, onion, and bloomed oregano.  I have found that when making something like black beans, slightly sautéing the finely chopped garlic and onion in a small amount of olive oil and then tossing in the herbs brings out the flavors.  My mom used to say it’s blooming the herbs, making their oils come out for the best flavor.  It tends to make the house aromatic for hours.  It will clear your sinuses.

It smells weird but I gotta go get my ‘zzzs’

Isn’t the government going through such a mess?  The more trash they find to clean out, the louder the shouting gets.  I suppose it’s not unlike when a doctor has to drain a wound; it hurts like a very dickens, and as he has to press it a bit more, it hurts more; you can’t help but groan, but soon the draining is done, with the infection gone, the wound can heal, and you can be healthy again. Our country has been floundering under a load of debt and bad dealings for so long it will take some pain.  I don’t agree with all of what is being done; some vulnerable people need protection, but bribes and kickbacks and such we can do without.

This was supposed to be white; I don’t mind since it’s pretty.

The puppies are growing well; the CBW has reached the ‘no’ stage. I have a new social work book about half done, and I will release another cookbook shortly.  There are so many projects coming, and on top of that, once the weather calms down, spring planting will begin.  The hydroponics are starting my seedlings for me, and the light shelves are working.  It’s nice to have things growing again. The orchids this year are astonishing.  Some are coming up different in color than expected. My life is like that; it’s not anything like what I planned as a child, then as a teen, and then when I started working.  What you think at one end of your life juxtaposed with what actually happened is sobering.  We have no idea, and perhaps that’s what we’re supposed to learn: plan as you can, do as you can, but the results may be unplanned.

That’s right: February 17-21  I am gifting you a Free download of Lenten Stories for God’s Little Children

Big lessons for little hearts, told one story at a time. Simple stories, lasting faith, perfect for little believers. Faith, family, and fun; Lent or bedtime storytime, just got more special.
