The babies are doing fine, from puppies to Violet and Penelope, and the kittens in the hostas, even the parrotlets are nesting. I have 2 alpaca ready to pop anytime. We even have a broody hen out in the henhouse and this is definitely not a good time for chicks! However, everyone is growing well. Violet is outside helping grumpa (grumpa’s are grandpas who are grumpy) with his RV engine wiring. By that, we mean she is walking off with strategic tools and wires. Hence the grumpy being exhibited.
It’s getting dry out there; we’re once again below the amount typically seen in August. Currently, our area is experiencing a moderate drought, which means that if you don’t irrigate, your lawn, gardens, and flowers are all in trouble. Therefore, Dan has updated and improved his solar-powered pumps to pull water from the stream up to the garden. It works much better than the hydraulic ram we used for years. I’m hauling buckets of water from the house to water my flowers in pots outside. And it doesn’t look like there will be enough rain in the forecast to fix this anytime soon.
