And such a lot this week: we had a winter storm earlier that left us with 7 inches, we are having another one tonight that’s dropping 3, and it’s beautiful to look out at , but getting around is a chore. Our rick is full of wood, so we have a fire in the offing for later today, once I’ve got everything picked up. The CBW is taking her nap, Dan’s doing budgeting and paying bills and I’m chatting with you a minute. Just heard from the youngest daughter we are going to be great-grandparents gain this summer. No idea if it’s a girl or boy, but I love babies so does it matter? That’s three great’s to the family.

And I am busy working on a new cookbook; the writer’s group met in the library with 18 souls braving the cold to stumble in and work on their writing projects with I and my co-leader Rachel. She is always so amazed when people come out to learn the craft. She just completed her first book and she is busy doing the first rewrite.

Our newest dog, Tucker, is an escape artist. Normally, the male dogs are in one barn, the females in another but he doesn’t want to be with Fennec, he wants to stay with the ladies. Lot of men out there nowadays. So Dan keeps hauling him out, bringing him back and blocking whatever way it was he got out this time. He’s pretty inventive. He climbed up the hay and jumped through the eaves where a board was loose; he pushed over the water bucket and sailed over the inside half door, he found a loose board; anyway, by the time it’s Tucker proof, that stable stall will be earthquake and storm proof.

And he does not care that it’s cold.

The CBW is at the “Why” stage. Oh, my. why do my eyes get tired, why can’t I go out without gloves, why is there snow, why do I like gummi worms and not gummi bears…I guess the good Lord thought I needed another reminder of being patient.
