Last week, besides the insane cold and snow, I slowed down my writing to catch up on editing because I am really behind. The last time we had this much freezing cold and snow in a ten-day period was ten years ago! And the temps at night are in single digits. Next week the cold during the day will be single digits again and below zero at night. And don’t get me started about wind chill; I think that was a device invented to make us feel colder even if we aren’t outside. Considering the way folks are acting like the apocalypse has started, (I was foolish enough to go out for milk and cheese and the lines at the grocery were filled with people planning for a disaster-water, milk, meat, dried foods, some had two carts!) It’s been quite a while and people forget this is actually supposed to be like this in January. The CBW had her first try at sledding downhill and loved it.

Anyway, during all that cold, when we were really grumpy and housebound, the quail eggs hatched in the incubator and now we have 19 baby button quail. They, at two days old, are the size of bumblebees. They weigh less than a dime. And they are the apple of the CBW’s eye, so much so that when she goes back to her Mom’s house she has to leave her doll watching them for her.

Fawn passed her national exam. Thank you to all who were thinking/praying and sending her encouragement. Her work with traumatized kids can now go on independently.
Dan still hasn’t found a car of his own.
And I have started Christmas shopping. (I know, I know, but we oldsters take longer to get anything done.)
And next week I will advertise my first blind date book boxes; an incredibly fun project, choosing just the right things for each box. Watch for announcements. I’ve been putting our catalogue of books in order to create a QR code for them; it will be included in the box, and it includes not just the code of our catalogue but two more free downloads, so when you buy a box, you will get a hardback, softback, at least one autographed, lots of small freebies and surprises and two free downloads, so each box has 4 books! Looking forward to it; I have tons of merch to add to the boxes. What do you think of me having three different size boxes, at three different prices? Sort of like grab bags for grown-ups.
And on to the specials of the week: and they are great downloads on Amazon, and free (January is freebie month around here. The rest of the year we have one freebie and 3 on sale for 99 cents specials. Fill your reader while you can!)
Here are the specials for this week:
From January 17-21: The Fiber Mavens Omnibus-all three books in one-is a free download. Between the Feds and the crime wave, will Brad and Casey solve the puzzling quilt clues before the town and their wedding go up in flames?
From January 20 to 24, Micah’s Quest is a free download. This was our first space novel! If you like space travel, Micah Oberllyn, Sir Alex Stevens, autistic geeks, horrible bad guys, action, and adventure, you will love this book! Just go to

And that wraps up the news from the homeplace for this week! Love to hear from you-blessings!
