But a bit more on that later. We cut hay yesterday, based on the weather forecast, and of course, it’s now raining. Ah, well. The CBW is here for the day; we need to clean the house for the weekend, so, of course, we’re reading a book first. She is heading off for a nap and I will be doing the house shortly. I published a new book last week and am pleased with it. It’s one of our specials this month, and I hope you will read and enjoy it.

One of our totally immoral barn cats had kittens. The CBW found them and is in love. They were unfound because she had them under my peony bushes, and no one thought to look outside the barn, which is the sensible place to give birth. Like every other animal on this farm, she ignores the safety and comfort of the barn to give birth. Our alpaca insist on dropping their cria in the barnyard; the hens hide their eggs and march out with a string of babies behind them, the dogs dig holes that can fill with rainwater; no one has any sense around here. Since my granddaughter is expecting another great-grandchild, I have informed her that she will go to the birthing center, and the barnyard is off-limits. No having them in the car on the way. She thinks I’m nuts. However, as I was formerly saying, our CBW, Violet, found the nest of kittens and is in love. She knows they love her; she pets them, pets the mom, and is insistent on showing everyone who comes where “ her” kitties are. I suspect mom will move them soon.
