Sadder But not Wiser, Just My Opinion

Just my opinion: This has been a hard week for America. Not only did we have the anniversary of the attack on us on 9/11, but a young man, married with little kids, was martyred for his outspoken convictions. Charlie Kirk was controversial, yes. He was loud, proud, and passionate. That is no rationale for murder in front of 2000+ students. I’ve had preachers who were louder and more boisterous than this young fellow. Did I agree with all he had to say? Heavens, I don’t even agree with Dan 100% of the time.
And the posting of the murder on social media is simply gauche. Where has the common decency we used to take for granted gone? We fought a war to get our rights secured; free speech, freedom of expression, freedom of religion, freedom to assemble, to have public discourse, due process, freedom from slavery, ability to own your own home, to have a gun for protection, to have an education; fundamental human rights that are, or should be, universal and inalienable. Why does it feel like they are being attacked on all sides?
We have had way too many public executions lately, from children sitting in a prayer to celebrate the opening of school, to this latest atrocity. May God have mercy on us; we seem to have none for each other.
Now moving on to other things in an attempt at entering the weekend in a better frame of mind; our puppies, the CPW included, are growing well. We have too many roosters in our flock and will need to get them to someone who needs them. Have you ever heard what 5:00 in the morning sounds like when eight immature roosters (Meaning they are just getting their voices and they crack and garble worse than a teen boy trying out for a solo)and one older rooster have a crowing fight in the henhouse? You do not want to be there in person. It goes on for at least fifteen minutes or until Dan gets mad and goes out to let them out for the day. It makes him grumpy and is not doing the neighbors any good.

Life on the farm is good; I am listening to Christmas music right now-yes, that’s right, Christmas music. It always cheers me up. The leaves do not look like they are going to turn, thanks to the drought. They are crisping up, drying out to brown, and falling in crunchy heaps on the ground. I do not know where I am going to get lovely leaves for the CPW to do her leaf art picture this week. I need to run out to the Amish bulk store for more flour and staples. I have completed the edit of the sixth Hidden America book, and it will be appearing shortly. Of course, the preorder for Social Worker Memoirs Three is running until October 1st; you might want to get on the list for it, as it’s going very well. (go to https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FNRQCDPY and preorder so you will get your copy early.) This one will make you laugh and giggle and tear up sometimes.

And the special for this week is grand as well:
Sept 15-19 Our bestseller Omnibus 3 The Future Generations of the Oberllyn’s will be free! Nearly 500 pages long, the complete third trilogy is free, but only for a week.
If you like unending action, apocalyptic adventure, romance, tech, and intrigue, then the Future Oberllyn Omnibus is for you! A global genetic virus has a 100% kill rate; the Oberllyn’s need to destroy it before it wipes out civilization; maybe Noel can retire, Kai can take over the family research clan while Alex and Micah head for the stars. You will step right into their world, and you may not want to step back. Get a hot drink, a comfy chair, and turn off the phones; this book is going to keep you enthralled for hours.
Have a better week next week; keep the hearts of all those who are affected by the tragedies of this week in your hearts and prayers, and Blessings to all.
