Love Me Tender, Redoux

Love still grows in spite of the Polar Vortex

What’s a vortex? Will it lick me in the face like my new puppy?

February is almost here, and with it comes the season of love. To celebrate Valentine’s Day, we’re offering three romantic, clean books and a new release just in time for Lent, which begins February 18 this year. I think you’ll really enjoy these. With the weather still cold, curling up in bed with a good book while the snowplows go by sounds perfect. Doing it while saving money is a plus. Polar Vortex collapse, cyclone bombs, and blizzards pale in significance to a good book and hot cocoa with an afternoon stretching in front of you dreaming of flying off to the tropics.  Sure we’ll all need to go back to work eventually but in the meantime, vitamin Sea sounds so nice.

Meanwhile, we’re planning a short writing vacation at the end of March and dreaming about a beach trip with the kids. I’m so glad we got a bigger vehicle—now there’s space for the two great-grands, my sewing machine, iron, fabric, spinning wheel (or maybe just drop spindles), suitcase, computer, thumbsticks, and plenty of food. Last time we stayed at Ocean City, the nearest grocery store was fifty miles away, and life’s too short to drive that far just to eat. I’ll stop by my local Amish bakery for bread, visit the general store for fruit, fresh veggies, and birch beer, and pick up milk and soda at the regular grocery store. I might even make a trip to Sam’s for bulk soda and chips. The car will be packed, but by the time we come home, everything will have been eaten, leaving room for souvenirs. Dan has already asked me to remind him to bring his sport kites. As I look out my window at the 11 inches of snow still on the ground, a week under an ocean sky sounds wonderful. Do you have any vacation plans coming up? I’d love to hear about them! Now, let’s get to this month’s books. I’ll also be announcing a contest on my Facebook page and here next week.

I shall bring my baby sister and we shall sled together.

From February 2 to 6, you can download Criminally Pieced Together for free.

This Valentine’s Day, follow Brad and Casey as they experience a traditional Hawaiian wedding with a volcano hike, a luau, and ancestral customs. Their plans are interrupted by kidnappings, murder, and a terrorist bombing, leaving little time for a honeymoon. When they return home, their small town feels changed—vigilantes patrol the streets, federal agents arrive, and uneasiness spreads. This clean, small-town romance will keep you turning the pages late into the night.

From February 8 to 15, The Obligation of Being Oberllyn is just 99 cents to download on Amazon.

Perfect for Valentine’s Day, this story follows Catriona as she discovers what it really means to be part of the Oberllyn clan—and she’s not sure she can handle it. Will Kai, Noel, and Micah stop the earth from imploding before the Day of the Dead? Does Catriona love Gabriel enough to join the clan? Join the Oberllyn family as they fight for their lives, their family, their country, and the world, all while making time for romance and family bonds.

My newest trilogy, In God I Trust—book two of the Collected Faith Journeys—will be free to download from February 16 to 20. It’s available for preorder now, so if you want your copy right away, feel free to preorder. I always appreciate it when readers do!

Free downloads are wonderful, too, since you get your copy first. In God I Trust includes reflections on James, a champion of compassion, the final moments of Christ, and bedtime tales inspired by my own children. Each page invites you to explore the heart of Christian living and deepen your faith. If you want to grow closer to our Creator, these daily devotionals will gently guide your thoughts toward Him. The stories may spark reflection, bring a smile, or even a tear, but they always lead you back to the Savior who gave everything for us. With three months of devotionals, this book will carry you through Lent and beyond.

From February 23 to 27, our final special is Forged in Water and Fire, another romance-filled novel just for you.

If you enjoy stories with dragons, manors, magic, science, dystopian futures, and sweet romance, you’ll love Tbear/Traveler’s final book in the Clan Falconer series. An ancient evil from the Great War threatens the five United Kingdoms, and Lucan, his clan, and his family must stop it. Francis and Eliza are doing their best to get married, David and Nightsong are expecting a baby, and the dragons are forming unexpected alliances. New bonds are formed, old rivalries simmer, and both dragons and clansmen must work together to survive in a world shaped by water, fire, and love.

Forged in Water and Fire—be sure to get your copy. You might want to have a box of tissues nearby, and some chocolate wouldn’t hurt either.

There they are, love to hear from you-have you got plans to escape the cold for a little while? I sure hope so!  Blessings to all. Watch for the contest!
