And it keeps me from noticing the monsoon outside
Can you believe we’re three weeks into April already? The hyacinths and spring flowers have died back, but the weeds go on forever. I mailed out the contest prizes on Wednesday, so hopefully everyone will have them by Monday. A couple has already received their package and posted pictures on FB. That was kind. And, oddly enough, it was the people who lived farthest from me who got them first this time. Go figure. The lady who won in my own town hasn’t got hers yet, but the man in Oregon has. When those receiving prizes get theirs, could you drop me a line to let me know? I’m trying to figure out if there is a pattern to the deliveries.
In the meantime, just a quick list of doings around here: I’ve just completed the first edit of my next book of childhood stories and will be ordering the cover shortly. I am 10 chapters into the next social work memoir, and six chapters into an alternative history, and just mapping out a sci-fi. Things are progressing as they ought to: We found kittens in our barn last week: sweet little things. Violet is thrilled. Two mother dogs are expecting, so more spring babies will be born soon. Peni is teething and most thoroughly cranky. I taught at the creative writing group last night, and followed it with a stop at the new store that just opened in town. I’ve got a bunch of solar lights to get set out, so let’s get straight to this week’s freebie, shall we?
