This was a lovely week, full of thunderstorms on and off, weeds going out of control, gardens started, and other people getting to go to water parks while I stayed home watching the one who was too young to go. Peni and I skirted fleeces for the mill, weeded flowerbeds, played on the keyboards, and took naps: she understands my need for naps. She needs them, too, and there is nothing like snuggling up with a baby to rest.
I bottled honey from our bees. It’s a deep amber color and smells strongly of my herb garden; the taste is stronger but solidly good. We gave some to our neighbor who has allergy issues.
I just completed Volume Two of the children’s and their bigger friends’ bedtime stories book: the cover is back, I have approved it, and it’s now in the process of formatting. I hope it will be published within the next couple of weeks. Titled Kids Grew in My Garden, Volume Two, I think you are going to enjoy it.
I am halfway through roughing in the new social work memoir; you all seem to love them. May is going to be a busy publishing month, and of course, it’s our wedding anniversary month and Mother’s Day month to boot. There will need to be something very special for those.
Now, on to our special for this week: it’s based on true historical facts, which, to some, might make it seem dry, but how can a family saga with heroic natives, vile bad guys, adventure, brave young people, and mild romance be boring?
