Somedays, Just Getting Out of Bed is a Mistake

But we do it anyway.

Our CBW watering the grass instead of the flowerbed

This week, our CBW had to go to the Urgent Care. She had a fever we couldn’t keep down and complained of “I sore, mamaw.” They tested her for Covid, Strep and a variety of things and basically told us that until she got worse, they couldn’t diagnose her! Give her as many fluids as she could take, use a pain reliever and try to make her sleep.

Today she is better, for which I am thoroughly grateful, but isn’t it odd that a temp of 104 and achiness can’t be diagnosed until it gets worse? I don’t know. They used to tell you it was a virus or something and they don’t anymore, just “let it get worse.” I don’t want it worse, I want it better. Had I wanted it to get worse, I’d have laid her outside in the thunderstorm we had and let her catch pneumonia on top of whatever the bug was she already had. Maybe she could have officially gotten cured then? OK, end of Great grandma rant…

And on to an explanation; the first two weeks of August Dan and I are traveling and where we’re going may have poor wifi if at all, so I may not get a newsletter out until we return.

I do want to invite our new people from the two giveaways we ran: welcome! You’ll find we’re mostly a friendly bunch here. If you have any questions or just want to say hi, you can do so in the box below.

Did I tell you the puppies have their eyes open and can bark? Cute little, puppy demands for attention. They can hardly get their bellies off the ground but they can bark. And the special continues until Sunday afternoon on our book. I hope you get a copy to read. Book two will be coming out next month.

July 21-28: for just 99 cents (and getting you ready for book 2 coming out very soon on vella and then ebook) The Multifaceted Mind! Allyson the gatekeeper was a high functioning multiple personality raised in a loving home by professionals. Her various egos had their part in the family firm, from accountant to detective, from gardener to infant, from martial arts master to shy nerd; so many voices speaking at once with the gatekeeper to get their time in the sun. When a co-worker is found murdered in her garden, she must find a way to clear one of them of a murder charge. If you want to move beyond creepy mystery and into the just plain weird but possible tale, you have to get the Multifaceted Mind!

That’s it for now- see you next week and may your travels be good ones!
