A Broken Well, a Drought and Puppy Love

And love snuck up on us…

These two little girls are so sweet. Born July 4, and I shall need to find them a new home soon.

This has been an interesting few weeks; our well has stopped being artesian but appears to have water in it. The county engineer has no idea, the oil and water conservations guys have no idea, the five well diggers in town have no idea, and the last time in our recorded history that it went dry was 52 years ago during a dearth; such a death is occurring now. There does not appear a break in it. We will cut and make hay next week, which is good, but the immediate issue of the well is going to take more work.

A dearth is a pronged drought. Usually in summer we have one but it only lasts 6 weeks or so. This one has been operational since before July 4. It shows no sign of stopping as predicted rains go around us for some odd reason. It was supposed to pour rain this morning. We had a mist. It’s supposed to rain last night. Nothing. The sky darkens, it feels like rain and nothing happens, just cloudiness leaving with hot sun. Our garden which cannot be irrigated, is drying up.

Meanwhile life on the farm goes on. We came home from our trip to find out that the barn cat mom did have kittens and we found them by the barnyard gate.

The CBW was very standoffish when we got back. Guess she thought we were playing hide and seek and she was mad. Shortly she came back to happy again. Her mom got her a pet lop eared rabbit while we gone. She seems to think that makes her a farm girl.

Jut where exactly did you hide, grandma?

And other than being really tired, a little swollen and ready for the weekend, things are fine. Catching up on things, finding out that my newest book was # 1 in three categories, Social work, Personal growth and Christian Self-help was marvelous: thank you very much for downloading and reading it. Don’t forget to leave a review! and now I’d like to tell you about next weeks freebie as well:

If you wonder how you can move mountains, achieve goals, break chains, live a fulfilled and mindful life, Paul had you in mind when he wrote Hebrews 11; look at the crowd of heroes he gave you as examples to live by.  None of them were perfect, either. Hint: you don’t have to be; you just need to have the gift of faith. And it’s a free gift. And so is this book for five days! Beginning the 19th and running until Friday, Such a Cloud of Witnesses will be a free download, just for my friends and readers and fellow voyagers! Get your copy now!

And now, good day, happy weekend and enjoy you book. Stay on this side of the sod!
