I heartily wish I had never heard the term heat dome. I think when the weathermen coin these phrases to explain themselves, they just make us hotter or colder, depending on the season. Right now, it’s heat index and heat dome. The thermometer says 92, but it’s 101’ in feel. Ugh! Had I wanted to be baked, I’d have joined the Foreign Legion and ran around the Sahara Desert. At least you get to ride camels. Even though I water them, my flowers are fainting outside, especially the hanging pots.
However, F&S took the CBW to the county fair and she got to pet pigs, cows, sheep, goats, even geese. They went later in the day when the heat was going down and still needed ice cream to sustain them, along with several large glasses of lemonade.

I’ve gotten the covers all changed on the Piper trilogy of the Hidden America series: they look so much better now. That was much work, the total re-edit and covering, but I think it was worth it.
